Blair Atholl

Nestled in the heart of the Grampian Mountains with the rivers Garry and Tilt flowing through the village, Blair Atholl is a picturesque town in the Perthshire region.

Despite being surrounded by mountains, Blair Atholl provides a welcoming respite of being a relatively flat area of land. The perfect stop after a hard day’s hiking or hill walking. The small town has been included in the Cairngorms National Park, which ensures the infrastructure will stay sympathetic and unspoilt to the surrounding natural beauty.

The town itself is relatively small, though boasts a range of services for locals and attractions for tourists. The Old Mill, of 19th Century construction, still exists and is even open to the public during the summer months, while the House of Bruar and Atholl Country Life Museum are also popular attractions to take you back to a time gone by.

Blair Atholl is home to a parish church, hotels and B&Bs as well as a selection of fine cafes and restaurants. Whether you are after a coffee shop, a country inn or a European restaurant, you can find it all in the plateau of Blair Atholl.

If you’re spending time in the area, then there is plenty to keep you entertained, from wildlife watching, off-road driving and swimming. The stunning waterfalls at Falls of Bruar are not to be missed, while the nearby Lock Tummel offers fishing opportunities and is a beautiful place to hike or take a leisurely walk.

Of course, the main reason people visit the area is for the impressive Blair Castle and the beautiful Hercules Gardens, but there is certainly plenty here to keep everyone occupied.
